ROUGHLY SPEAKING LANGUAGE GUIDES
Here's a neat idea: a short (20 pages, 8X10), downloadable, printable language guide that gives you the basics for just $5. After giving you a tour of the alphabet, the guides provide situational conversations that cover greetings, chit chat (where do you live? What do you do? etc.); asking for and buying things; food on menus and in the markets; getting shelter; directions; medical language and time. Then there are sections on basic grammar and vocabulary, verbs, adjectives and sentence construction, plus a quiz to keep you honest. So far there are guides for Turkish, Japanese and Spanish. In the works are guides for German, French, Portuguese, Italian, Czech, Hungarian and Russian.
Not only are these guides inexpensive, 10% of every sale is contributed to aiding needy communities in areas where the Roughly Speaking languages are spoken.
